Laura’s Story – Breast Cancer Treatment

In this video Laura Curtis talks about her Breast Cancer experience. Finding out she had Breast Cancer was “almost like a hit in the gut” according to Laura Curtis. She originally became concerned after she had found a lump on her breast during a self breast exam. Curtis went to her primary physician to get an opinion about the lump she had found and was advised to go to the Columbus Regional Health Breast Health Center for further examination. Following her visit, Curtis was diagnosed with having Breast Cancer. During her Breast Cancer treatment at Columbus Regional Hospital, Laura worked closely with Breast Health Center Nurse Navigator Beth Staker who helped her with understanding the details of her treatments and being a helping hand throughout the treatment process.
