Dr. Von Hoff’s major interest is in the development of new anticancer agents, both in the clinic and in the laboratory. Dr. Von Hoff and his colleagues have conducted early clinical investigations of most of the new agents that have been approved for cancer treatment in the United States in the last two decades, including gemcitabine, docetaxel, paclitaxel, topotecan, irinotecan, fludarabine, mitoxantrone, dexrazoxane, nab-paclitaxel, and multiple others. At present, he and his colleagues are concentrating on the development of molecularly targeted therapies for individual patients with cancer.
